this skeet bought to you by the vivid memory of meeting HR because I said "I wish I had hips like [cis coworker]" which is another thing! Queer circles will let you be a cringe babytrans if they can pigeon-hole you, "oh all the internet trans women are like that"
just remembered talking dysphoria in public with cis people and how if it's not voice they'll assume it's vanity (face and chest), dysmorphia (ribcage) or a sex thing (waist & below)
I was into spirituality more seriously a few years ago and had some insights without substances, but I was a bit off mentally + fasting + sleep deprived at the time - so either I was just plain crazy or I was more attuned to those forces, idk
Those experiences sound incredible! I would love to have grown up in the faith, I was raised secularly so I'm just pottering around the edges of green magic today. I mostly use psychedelics for reflection, psychological resets, basic stuff like that.
This is where I think simultaneous truths can be useful. Trips (especially on plant spirits like ayahuasca) are insightful magical experiences. They're also scrambling your brain and making you see stuff that isn't there. Reality is somewhere between those, and you get there by changing perspective
I agree, but I don't think there's necessarily a reason drugs don't allow you to leave your body when other techniques do. It sounds like the OP is using mysticism selectively, "magic and astral projection are real, but only manually, if you use drugs you're just imagining it!"
How are they different? It's still the same brain whether you get there through chanting and meditation, or substances. I guess you could argue the plant spirits are demons giving you fake experiences...
