The argument that you shouldn't accept money that comes from a problematic or bad source has always been weird to me. Like isn't taking the money from the problematic or bad source and using it to do better or less problematic things a good thing?

If I was a candidate for office and Sam Bankman Fried gave me money my public statement on the matter would be "thank you for the money. Cryptocurrency is still bullshit. I am going to use the money to advocate for universal healthcare." I don't see how not accepting that money is more ethical.
I think it's complicated because money from bad sources often comes with strings attached, and they may not be visible at the time. But yes, I'm with you in at least some cases!
