Yup, if your computer only had a manually power supply (or you disabled auto power off), that would be the screen you saw when Windows had finished shutting down. The screen still exists (though more modern looking) in current versions of Windows, just hardly anyone ever sees it.

When I used to work in the pub trade out handy man used to have one, treated it like the work horse it was, drove it until he retired, and was still able to sell it on. Last time he checked the reg (prob about a year ago now) it was still logged as insured and taxed. Those things are fucking beasts.

Yeah they cancelled it, when I spoke to them about it I got the impression that was pretty common. Workers not wanting to spend ages finding somewhere "correct" to move the car to, so just dumping it near to were they moved it from, then parking inspector comes walking along not knowing about it.
Reminds me of the time the council moved my car for the same reason about 5 years ago (Why you no put out notices!!!), And then ticketed the car because the place they put it was a no parking area! Left hand not knowing what the right was doing!
