Hard to imagine a more scandalous abdication of the democratic role of the media. The new indictment is a tremendous trove of *new* information about Trump's role in subversion of the 2020 election and admits of process coverage just like the emails story

I wonder if some part of this is because of the further destruction of traditional media between 2016 and now. More outlets owned by private equity or billionaires, more journalists driven out of the profession (esp those who don't have family money)
more than the emails story though, right? we rarely got anything *new* about the emails -- most days the story in 2016 was that the emails story was still vexing hilary.

I listened to the audio reading of it. It's incredible to listen to. The amount of lying and deceit in furtherance of the larger conspiracy is shocking. And it all culminates with the mob he summoned to DC in his last ditch effort to "buy time" and kick it back to state legislatures.
It's like billionaires know they shouldn't exist in a just world and purposely buying out and silencing the best tool to spread that message
