Please understand: I think it's great how the French put so much emphasis on living and enjoying life! It is much healthier in many respects than the U.S. approach, where in most jobs if you took 4 continuous weeks of vacation you'd come back to being unemployed. 2/
An enormous culture difference between the US & France is that almost everyone in France takes a 4-6 week continuous summer vacation. No email, no check-ins. Small businesses just close. Drs don't take appointments. I knew this about France, but being in it is jarring. 🧵 1/
