I know because I'm one of them! Over the past 10 years I've described close to 300 species, with no funding and on my days off from my regular job in conservation. Lots of taxa don't have someone like that. 🧪

Whenever I mention a group that needs revising, someone will say "oh, that's a great project for a student!" And my reply is "No, it's a great project for someone who already knows the group and doesn't need to spend three years learning basic principles." But there's no money for that.
