Didnt't this guy just publish a big "Democrats and Republicans are the same on FEMA" headline
That money was repurposed for the bus line (F line) in 2021
Ah great typo here. Won't be fixing it.
Finally acted up on a months-old recommendation I saw @jbouie.bsky.social share and I am preparing for my full transformation into the "bean guy" in my social circles.
"Cold Omaha" is a what the big sports personalities in the twin cities said would happen to us if we didn't build the Vikings a new stadium. (I guess impossible to falsify since they got the stadium)
I think there's also a difference of tactics vs goals at play here. Would we see overall better outcomes by exempting good stuff? Probably but I think that coalition is a harder to build in Congress than a broader speed-up/recalibrating the whole environmental review process. But I'm just some guy.
I think there's probably a better way even for regulating bad stuff than to use the system we have. I don't love the idea of special courts because I think that it being up to courts at all is a big part of the problem. I see where you're coming from though.
Yes correct. Not sure why your earlier post framed this as a shortcoming of Ezra Klein style technocratic liberalism. What you are saying is pretty in line with that whole critique.
I think most people who think environmental review has run amok would consider an exemption for Good Things to be a huge win. Including probably Klein himself.
