I'm worried about the overconfidence of the Kamala supporters. I hope they don't forget to turn out to vote as a result. More than anything, we know Trump will claim victory no matter the outcome. I hope Americans are ready for what ever nasty crap Trump will pull.
I'm not sure how many people keep up with the polls, but the polls are hopefully making sure Kamala supporters don't stay complacent. At least, that's my hope
The same. Americans were just as confident with Hillary in 2016. We're all know how that turned out.
Honestly, here on the ground in a relatively blue state, I'm seeing more pessimism than overconfidence. We remember the shock of the 2016 election too vividly. The trauma makes us paranoid. I think media outside the US (BBC, DW) is much more confident than domestic sources.
Given the early voting turn has utterly shattered records so far, I'm rather hopeful that overconfidence isn't the issue. There was/is some fear that all the trash polls flooding the scene showing Trump marginally ahead could cause doomerism to set it, but so far that hasn't happened either.
