That sucks for sure. With no algorithmic amplification, using the right hashtags is really the only way to make your content be found. I started following the #rstats#commodon is also worth following.

The analysis paralysis of choosing the “right” instance is definitely real. Can’t do anything wrong with starting on mastodon.social. Taking your followers with you when switching instances is pretty easy nowadays :)

I think, specifically of the css/ccs crowd, at least some people have chosen Mastodon for their new home. This place doesn’t even have working hashtags for some reason …
