Earlier in my career, I tried to get academic men to talk about this. Didn’t really work. There was one panel on parenting at a major conference in which the only two men in the full room were me, a panelist, and a (gay) friend who is not a parent and doesn’t want to be one.

Yes, absolutely. I actually enjoy teaching the most, but the teaching demands are such that I can't even cram in the bits of research and writing that I enjoy.
