50% of Dredd stories are about finding a corpse with a missing nose, then Dredd losing a chase with a suspect, another noseless corpse turns up, Dredd finds an apartment full of noses and a Nose Vampire Coffin, then the Nose Vampire arrives home, Dredd shoots him & says the law can't be sniffed at.

I feel any 'start here' Dredd suggestion has to be one of those, not one of the epics or twisty internal political ones.

You could legit pitch this as a 6-page story.

Nowadays, it’s more likely to be six pages of headshots of three Judges in a dark room - their dialogue (in tiny lettering) taking up more than half the page. Then Dredd jumps on his bike shoots the perp.
