What do you look for in a textbook? What suits you best?
Is there something to be said about the benefit of being able to differentiate between the two languages having an impact on production? I feel like no, but it’s an interesting thought 🤔
In class today: numbering systems in a language are fascinating. Can we spread them along a spectrum from “logical” to “less so”? Bc if so, Chinese numbers feel very logical to me, English so-so, French solidly no, and Russian is wild 😳 Thoughts? #langsky#linguistics

There’s an old Bavarian word that refers to when your eyes go out of focus and, rather than focussing them again, you just stare at nothing for a bit. The word is Goaßschau, which means “goat stare”
