Shoes! It was really silly.
I was and it was fun! Instead of reading from Starter Villain, he read a chapter of the new book about the moon, and a silly short story about Wil Wheaton being killed by Crocs.
Other things that are not like being in Chicago: I'm sitting in a public venue waiting for a book event, and a total stranger just left her purse sitting in the chair next to mine. I've been here for years, and I just cannot get used to it.
I have done my favorite kind of good deed: helping a bunch of lost travelers find their way on public transit. There isn't much call to do this in Colorado. It was a much more common activity when I lived in Chicago.
I KNOW that house! A friend of mine lives in that neighborhood, and it is really glorious. Also, is anyone else appreciating the irony that someone posted that stupid complaint to a page about small living spaces? There's nothing small about that house, or that neighborhood, or that skyline.
When I was a kid in the 80s, we used to WANT to be famous. My friends and I would daydream about what we would do as famous actors or singers or whatever. Now, even when daydreaming about career success, none of us want fame.
