A sitting president forced his business associate to sign a 7-figure severance agreement that included a provision prohibiting him from cooperating with any law enforcement agency? And ran for president again? Twice? As a major party’s nominee? www.nytimes.com/2024/03/30/n...

Screen shot from New York Times article: “Mr. Trump took a different tack when prosecutors shifted their scrutiny to Allen H. Weisselberg, the Trump family’s longtime financial gatekeeper. Mr. Trump’s company paid Mr. Weisselberg’s legal bills and awarded him a $2 million severance, with a condition: He could not voluntarily cooperate with any law enforcement agency.”

I honestly don't think of the election as "Biden v Trump," I think of it as "[Democrat placeholder] v Apocalypse"

It turns out that the major pharmacies in the U.S. routinely provide patient medical records to law enforcement without a warrant. The potential ramifications of this for anyone on birth control, ordering abortion pills, or medication for mental illness and other personal conditions are staggering.

A friend’s $267,230 loan to Justice Clarence Thomas for an RV was mostly, perhaps entirely, forgiven, raising ethical and potential tax issues

The justice failed to repay much, perhaps all, of the $267,230 loan. His benefactor wiped the slate clean, with ethical and potential tax consequences.

Also, a pro tip: If you see someone being a real jerk to someone else, here or elsewhere, you can block them right then! You don't have to wait for them to be a jerk to you first!
