Didn't actually play this until the past couple of years. I like it more than 2 because it feels a lot easier to just zone out and blast guys without worrying about strategy. Great podcast game.

Not often that a game makes you reconsider your relationship to art and the people who make it. Glad I played it when I did but sad I didn't earlier.

Yeah agree with this take - doom 2 rocks but I think 1 is the better sweet spot for map design. 2 has more clever and complex things so it's more impressive on that level but also easier to get frustrated and lost, Doom 1 felt just right
