That meant more rain once they made landfall, and while hurricanes are rated as threats by wind speed, they do the most damage through storm surge and rain. Obviously thatā€™s on my mind today, along with all the folks I know and love in East Tennessee and all the folks in Western NC /2

Years ago, I did a bunch of reporting on climate change. I remember a conversation with a researcher at MIT who told me that while science could not predict whether thereā€™d more cyclonic storms, researchers were 100% that the storms we did get would be more powerful, wetter, and slower-moving. 1/
