PPA solves that attribution problem in a way that doesn't allow anyone to track or target individual users. It's an improvement. The messaging around it has just been awful.
Until the web moves away from an advertising-based business model (which I doubt will come anytime soon, as a microtransaction-based model is arguably worse), ad attribution ("who do I pay for sending this traffic?") is going to be a problem.

Here it is. The comments were absolutely full of folks thirsting after this guy, which still makes me emotional to think about. Until then, my body had been depicted as at best neutral, and more often a punchline or cautionary tale.
