It also turns out that the recording of a given transaction becomes more valuable than the transaction itself, which has some odd implications in terms of what's possible.
In a nutshell, it states that money is only a subset of the human value created, and we have to take into consideration all humans, because our actions generate data now. And data is extremely valuable, because it can be observed outside of the flow of time, i.e. recorded and replayed.
I agree, it needs to change. The biggest problem with traditional models of economics is that they don't take the internet into account. That changed the the way we communicate. I've got a Quantum Economic model I'm working on that offers guidance on building info-centric economies.
Gambling should take place on internal decisions, not external outcomes. If we change the way we structure the bets we make in a business, the outcome ends up successful in the long run. I'm working on some experiments that can demonstrate this mechanism.
