I was trying to remember the name of a piece of software the other day (Scrivener) and I kept being offered AI software for "generating" citations from their* work and I'm utterly baffled at how you could even write a proper essay without just naturally getting citations. *Hopefully

AI tools are my nightmare. My writers use ChatGPT to rewrite articles when they're supposed to be editing them properly. If I don't constantly compare their work to the original, then the original authors complain their meaning has changed. Meanwhile, mgmt keeps asking why we're not using AI more.
