The reason he got the Imac is partially because my partner is a troll but this kid SWEARS that Linux is better in every way to OSX. We bought him a USB drive so he could install whatever flavor of Linux he wanted. Hell, install Windows; it's an Intel Mac. That dream lasted for less than a day.

this makes me think about that Notch game concept that simulated space travel in real time and the "game" was that you had to basically program the Commodore 64 flight computer to go places. i wonder what happened to that

My partner also told him if he takes the Imac apart that is the LAST access to a personal computer or expensive electronic he will ever have in that house. No tablets, phones, game consoles..nada. I have doubts about their follow-through but it seems to have worked so far.
