HEY FREELANCERS - California just passed the Freelancer Worker Protection Act (SB 988). The gist: Clients have to provide you a contract with scope of work and pay, they gotta pay you in 30 days (or else pay double damages), and they cannot retaliate for trying to get paid. nwu.org/governor-new...

Yikes. YIKES. For a company of Meta’s size and sophistication to be storing passwords in plaintext is almost unthinkably reckless and incompetent. I genuinely cannot fathom how that was allowed to occur. This isn’t even security 101, it’s like Baby’s First Infosec Coloring Book.

The main reason I work on civilian drone data for a living is because it’s one of the hyped-up “new” technologies that’s actually really lived up to the hype in many ways (It hasn’t with drone delivery, but I don’t really care about drone delivery at all - it’s all about the drone imagery).

Consumer drones represent one of the only truly big *hardware* consumer tech innovations of the last 15 years, IMO

Having seen 3D printed cookie cutters and butt plugs, now is a great time to remind, you cannot sanitize most 3D printed pieces because they are riddled with small holes/nooks between layers because of how they're made.
