Lol I JUST saw four posts in a row that each started with "Why is no one talking about..." Obviously people are talking or they wouldn't have heard of it in the first place. I think it's more that people use the phrase to artificially ignite annoyance and anger-an easy and lazy way to get engagement

I second Ryan’s comment - ask for a few weeks or a month. Due dates are just so the revisions get done at some point. They usually don’t mean much unless it’s one of the very top journals and they’re planning issues. Even then they can push it.

Interesting and rewarding, sure, but it takes a huge amount of work and resilience to be successful in science. Downplaying that fact is not at all helpful.
