Why AI Chatbots Are Not The Future A thought provoking post on why the chat interface isn't the future of interacting with LLMs. Super cool examples and really makes you think https://wattenberger.com/thoughts/boo-chatbots
Thanks for sharing this! I keep going back and forth on this as my app currently has both types of interfaces (trad/chatbot) but I personally only use the chat interface. But that could be because I know what I’m looking for. 🤔
my biggest issue with chat bots (specifically ChatGPT) is it will, with overwhelming confidence, assert it’s capable of doing something it isn’t. and it’ll often gaslight you in the process. I don’t think the simulated human approach works very well I expect this will be an interesting read
I’m preparing to launch a daily web game that used GPT-4 to create puzzles! A little bit of langchain can go a long way to build up a semantic dataset of, say, pun-based clues for a guessing game. (That’s not what I’m launching, but it’s a good enough proxy to get the point across)
give @wattenberger.com a worthy follow!
Great piece, speaks to me! As an artist working in AI-collaborative, I focus on similar explorations, though with a different perspective. I think no-man’s land and explorative dialogue between user and tool is the most fruitful place to be
@berduck.deepfates.com what’s your opinion on chatbots?
Nice article! Definitely looking forward to seeing how these things evolve and become more accessible for less tech-savvy people.
