I texted my child that the new Witchlings book by @claribelortega.bsky.social arrived today. Her response is the all caps 12 yr old version of “yes.” 😅 She LOVES this series.
If schools add more free play into student schedules because of a Jonathan Haidt book it will be the best outcome for the dumbest reason imaginable.

My reading for July slowed down. I had to abandon one graphic novel because the print was just too tiny for me to read it with ease. I’m waiting on the audiobook instead. Hoping to finish a few more before the busy-ness of school starts up at the end of next week.

At a School Library Journal Summit in 2022, a presenter said that a particular book was not "great literature", but that it saved kids lives. How can that NOT be great literature? We have to stop apologizing for & shaming literacy. If a book matters to someone, it matters. Period.
