Here’s the thing. I have an ok voice for singing… as a tenor. And once a year I get to show it off, and I did yesterday, and people enjoyed it, and I did too. But a year from now I may be Lila everywhere. What to do with this thing that I’m good at but no longer fits? I honestly don’t know.

have you ever listened to Tanita Tikaram? she's a tenor and she's one of my absolute favourite singers. i also love Reade Wolcott, the singer for We Are The Union. also a tenor & trans woman. i hope there's training you can explore or some other way you can retain your joy in singing.

It still fits. It's still your voice!

Hi Lila. Im a singer and guitar player. Transition left me in the same place you are in. Ultimately i love playing music too much to hide. I have a tenor voice that people like. I am also a woman. Those who dont like it dont have to listen. Be yourself and live in love.

What do you mean no longer fits? Your singing voice won't leave just because the body around it shifts to be more accurate. And even if it does, those hours of practice are going to ensure it comes back much quicker than it did the first time. Good luck out there Lila

Wouldn't Laura Jane Grace be considered a tenor?
