I was content generalist for 30+ years; owned small businesses in a little bit of everything, now retired/disabled. 3D artist, anims, programming, audio/video, photography, etc. Anti-corp and anti-billionaire-- we all do what we gotta do, but we still "do"

I'm reeeeally tired of people and politics and lack of joy... Everything is a problem. Everyone is a problem. We're all exhausting as fuck. Someone has to be first to stop hating. And I just wanna make small, casual games and bring a little joy to people in a world of misery while I still can.

How many friends does Godot need to alienate before any of those still-clinging inside there actually open their eyes and go, "Hey, maybe we're being a little bit of the baddies here?" And no, this isn't about the stupid anti-woke/woke shit-- it is about the people I used to call friends.

Godot's community manager, Nat, is hunting down profiles to block on Godot's official account, even if they've NEVER interacted with Godot before-- or if they've had legitimate criticism about the engine. What a Wrecking Ball Nat is, lol. 🤣

How do people expect people to "just move"? Unless you have a lot of disposable cash there's no "just move". Family is a thing. Support networks are a thing. Cost is a thing. There's no "just move".

People calling Godot "woke"? LOL... When I was a moderator I had to ban a major gay-hating contributor because Godot didn't want to "because he was important to their project". Then Godot had an abusive moderator they promoted instead of dealing with. Godot is wretch, not "woke".

Looks like Ubisoft stepped on a proverbial landmine. I don't know why companies try to chase historical accuracy. Nobody cares until you claim you do. Just make fun games-- don't try to be an education.

It isn't that people like older games over newer games... It is that new games come bundled with shitty live services, petty microtransactions, and pseudo-currencies designed to obscure how much someone is spending. Gaming companies are becoming predators. That's what people don't like.

Been thinking about doing some videos that demystify #UnrealEngine for beginners. The basics and the important bits of the architecture. Main goal is to show that it is a much more accessible engine than what you'll see people claim online.

I took a look at the "Introduction to Unity" YouTube world and its just as bad as the Godot world. So many people trying to be entertaining and filling videos full of useless garbage. What should be a 2 minute is 2 hours of useless video and rambling non-sense, lol.

I believe three things are true at the same time. 1. Borders are incredibly important. 2. Don't be cruel to people trying to flee a cycle of violence and death and crossing those borders. 3. Don't be the country contributing to that cycle, and your borders will be far more secure.
