The UN convention on human rights enshrines the right to family life. The MIR for UK family reunification imposes an addendum: a right to family life *but not in the country of your birth*

For those who don’t know, for a British citizen to bring their foreign spouse to the UK, the *British citizen* must earn the MIR, which is usually discriminatory against British women with caring responsibilities. A simple change to *household income* would make a huge difference
