When teaching the world how to say Loughborough (to which I dedicate a good chunk of presentation time), I just say all three vowel sounds are the same & as in “up”. 🤷🏼♀️
You're gonna mislead southerners like that. To them 'up' is /ʌp/, the single British English pronunciation offered by the OED. But that's definitely not an East Mids 'up'!
