This is a very good thread and you should read it. The past 24 hours has seen all the worst kind of piling-on, groupthink and not-reading-the-damn-piece behaviour that Elon's Twitter provokes. This is a very good thread and you should read it. Ironically, the level of vitriol in response to @jemima.bsky.social's column on the echoey nature of the BlueSky chamber has matched any twitter pile on I've ever seen, only with an added dose of self-righteousness. (1/11)

Those of us old enough to remember when POCA first arrived are looking forward to the inevitable adjournments when the allegations of tax avoidance start & having to explain to infuriated clients that the hearing cannot go ahead & we cannot explain why 🙄 financialremediesjournal.com/content/are-...

Everyone said I was daft to build a Babylon station, but I built it all the same, just to show them. It blew up. So I built a 2nd and a 3rd. Those blew up. So I built a 4th. That one vanished. But the 5th one stayed! And that's what you're going to get, Delenn, the strongest station in neutral space

A still from the Babylon 5 pilot, a 90's science fiction show that I'm obsessing over at the moment. Anyway, Commander Sinclair, a human in a military uniform, is in a garden with Ambassador Delenn, an alien who is bald with an elaborate bony structure on her head where hair would normally be. Delenn has just asked Sinclair why humans built a Babylon 5 after the first four Babylon stations all ended in disaster

The school holidays have ended and I've found time to write a blog post based on the research I was doing for my trip to Oxford last week. It's on Virginia Woolf, learning Greek, not defining women & looking in the corners of rooms: wix.to/c1AvnL#newblogpost#womenartists#greek

On Knowing Greek A Bit
On Knowing Greek A Bit

Reading Virginia Woolf to read Ancient Greek and finding creative women in the corners of rooms that are not their own.

Yes, okay, it is 100% worth clicking through to find out and I will not spoil it. I have to say this is an INSANE decision and it guarantees I will watch the movie, which simultaneously almost guarantees that it will not be a commercial success because my taste is often niche AF.
