Yeah I think it's really helpful for you to explain this. I, like many others, don't believe that you/we actually have the leverage you're trying to use. But that's an empirical disagreement, not a moral one.
I would like someone to explain to my why I'm expected to declare my fealty to a candidate months before the votes are counted, and thereby give up whatever minuscule bit of leverage over their platform. I consider it my moral obligation to at least hold out until the bitter end
