if someone is miserable because they're trans it's usually not because they're trans but because systems and society make it hard to be trans. people being weird about it. lack of access to medical transition. social stigma. it's not because being trans is bad. it's because cis people hate us.
I had a lot of “behavioral” problems as a kid, and then a teacher finally noticed that I seemed like I had ADD. Once I got treated for that condition most of my bad behavior calmed down because going to school was way less of a horrible abrasive experience. I think the principle is similar
I mean speaking as a trans woman at least part of it is going through a puberty which left me with traits that keep me from being gendered as female. your point is well taken tho
