my theory is that bluesky is filled with bookish people and that for most authors will be a much better space for promoting work than twitter was, and certainly much smaller audiences on this platform will result in more sales anyway. my theory, or my hope, anyway. but y'all seem real nice.
I’ve bought 3 books from authors I discovered on Bluesky which is *huge* for me as chronic illness has made be a super slow reader and PhD life means my reading time is largely spoken for.
Sure, why not add a book to the to-read pile? And encourage author engagement on Bluesky at the same time.
Might be stating the obvious but - my favorite is authors who promote not only their own work, but others’ as well. If I like your book I want to know your recommendations!
Curious reader from Germany here: actually I found a lot of interesting books via Bluesky. I also followed quite a lot of authors (nonfiction and fiction) and I also bought some of the books I found in this way. For me Bluesky is a good way to discover interesting books and see book recommendations.Curious reader from Germany here: actually I found a lot of interesting books via Bluesky. Right now BlueSky is in such a great state that I look up the majority of books I see suggested on here.
I’m a bookseller and I enjoy putting up pictures and brief reviews of books I’m reading and excited about

This is why making #BQT#BookQuestionTime posts has been such a pleasure; invariably, the book recommendations everyone contributes are incredible!
Speaking of promoting non-fiction... Will you pump this out to your historian brethren? What's the best book on Che Guevara? Some initial research leads me to believe it might be Jon Lee Anderson's work. Accurate? No? Thanks, everybody!
