I don't think people realise just how bad things are in The UK. My wife and I are 40. No kids. Both started with nothing but now in the top 5% of earners. We can just afford the a small 2 bedroom house, but would be homeless in a few months if we both lost our jobs.
I think this person meant that they're keeping it to themselves because they don't want everybody to find out that they don't understand what 'recessive gene' means.
Last year the NYPD spent $150 Million to catch people who weren't able to afford to pay the subway fare. They collectively owed just $104,000 in fares. Instead of funding cops to shoot people, why not use the money to make public transport free for people who can't afford it?
