The Supreme Court just denied the U.S. petition for review of 5th Cir's decision allowing the TX abortion ban to supersede the Emergency Treatment and Labor Act. With SB8, the Court said Texas could exempt itself from constitutional rules. Now it decides Texas isn't subject to federal law

EMTALA offers limited but essential protections for pregnant people in emergencies. Without them, people here will face morbidity and mortality--they will suffer unspeakable tragedies. They already are. The Court just made the situation in abortion ban states worse
