As for furries and homophones it could be due to some misinfo about the Hasbin Hotel vs. Lackadaisy Cats drama bleeding into each other as Iron Circus is publishing Lackadaisy Cats on YouTube.
She has done some bone headed things like not want to give retroactive royalties for stuff her company has published because "it wasn't in the original contracts". I do know the current contracts all include royalties but it still super sucks she didn't make the effort to do more for the artists.
That sounds incredibly unlike her. She's not even a furry or actively in that community. Her friends and co-workers, are queer and trans. Her kickstarter projects have been to get the funding to publish authors who generally wouldn't get published by the main stream press.
I also think that the executive at the state level is pretty important to get ranked choice since it has been pretty useful in passing some important protections for trans people fleeing discrimination and putting reproductive rights into state constitutions.
As someone familiar with Spike's posts I think she has a tendency towards hyperbole at times. I can't really say with certainty she literally believes in that number. But as i stated before she probably muted the thread with all the bad faith folx and I'm not close enough to ask her with an @ or DM.
I do agree there is a lot of power in the executive but the the state level getting ranked choice would also mean less consolidated power for the two big parties. It's my opinion the parties themselves need to be ousted so they actually start listening to constituents.
Part of the reason a lot of people don't bother responding is because of replies that start out accusing someone based on assumptions and it reeks of bad faith debate tactics.
