I head off on the overnight ferry to the conference in Normandy. This trip involves a lift to Portsmouth, the ferry, bus to Caen, train to Coutances and then hopefully the 'navette' to Cerisy-la-Salle. I get anxious about these sorts of things.

If it helps, I used to get the ferry from Portsmouth quite frequently as a teen with my friends, and it's very straightforward. Other than teenage girl drama nothing ever happened on these jaunts.
