With different personalities comes different preferences. A warrior / adventurer is not going to be happy left at home raising the kids, and a homely, shy type isnโt going to want to go dungeon-crawling.
Speaking of followers and families, Iโd like there to be a better romance system than Skyrimโs bare-bones effort. Also, youโd have to work to maintain the relationship(s) and not get caught cheating (unless your spouse is poly) lest the relationship suffer or even end.
It's not a requirement, mate
Or you could just have a single home for you and your family, still using the Settlement system rather than the prefab Hearthfire stuff, to build a fully customisable home, in any style you like.
The more you build, you can encourage people to come and work for you to farm the land, work the mines, pour the drinks, stand guard etc. if you want to go down that route.
While I don't want to have to deal with loads of settlements, the ability to buy a plot of land on which to build a home for you and your family, a homestead, a farm, a ranch or even a small town, complete with staff, workers, resource farming, shops, a tavern etc.
- The small menu that pops up when aiming at containers so you can loot them in real time without pausing the game to open the full menu. - Followers with specific likes / dislikes and the affinity system, each with backstory that is revealed as they grow to like you more
There are a few things I think Bethesda did well in Fallout 4 that I would like to see brought into TES6. - The system to equip / alter followers / allies apparel and equipment. It works really well and I wish Skyrim had it.
