Hmmm, I guess I was assuming that they would be since how else do you prove that you’re still alive to hold the copyright? If you’re going to sue for infringement you have to have that, right?

Because also if you’re positing a universe where they were ALWAYS there and accepted the question for me is whether the law would be phrased that way in the first place. All laws that reference death would have been written differently because of the vampires hanging around.

I’m just imagining all the universes where vampires are very much NOT open and accepted and the amount of change that would have to happen before the humans got around to “amend the copyright law” in their favor lol.
