From a letter in today's The Times re the paean to Irish writing and James Joyce: "For all the injustices Britain has heaped on Ireland, Ireland has inflicted Joyce on English literature students." Harsh but fair.
Listening to Beethoven's heavenly "Emperor's Concerto" and out of nowhere came this deep melancholy and a fierce wish to hear my long dead grandmother (she studied at the Dresden Conservatory) play it just one more time. Music reaches the parts etc etc
Brazilian priest Juan Pablo takes abandoned dogs off the streets, feeds and bathes them. He then introduces a dog to the congregation of each Mass he takes to help find each one a home. Dozens of stray dogs have families because of this man ♥️
