The video of Musk saying this is especially revealing because he looks SO pleased with himself, like he's throwing down a gauntlet or has come up with a masterstroke of brinkmanship. The Walter Isaacson bio makes it clear how much he's fueled by rage. That's probably a pretty poor business plan.

Also--and I think this is a fair question because it goes to complete lack of self-awareness--what in the name of Freddy Krueger has Elon Musk done to his face? Nothing on it moves!

Rage is an ill-advised tool for business, but I have some experience of successful business people being fuelled by having a chip on their shoulder. This can be good for focus and makes you more believably irrational in negotiations (which is always harder for counterparties to deal with).
