Haven’t read the books/seen the shows/movies but feel instinctively/intuitively the C.I.A./Congress paid J.R.R Tolkien/George R.R. Martin to write Lord of the Rings/Game of Thrones to combat international communism/global terror on the cultural/artistic front. Just one man’s/person’s opinion/take.
