good example of the filtering process in media is how entertainers respond when asked to play nice w/detestable politicians. a lot of us would flat-out refuse to thank someone like Nikki Haley at the SNL goodnights. which is one of the reasons we’re not doing the SNL goodnights

I'm still baffled by anyone who watched True Detective season 1 and thought it was in any way supportive of traditional masculinity. Like it is very much about men, sometimes to the exclusion of women, and that's a fair criticism. But the show does not think these dudes rock.
