Unfriendly reminder that the GDR was years ahead of the FRG when it came to pretty much all civil rights. Life for queer people was objectively better in the GDR. Abortion was legalised in 1972, while it is still technically illegal in the FRG to this day.

The "reunification" made material conditions worse for women and queer people. Not to mention the economic plunder of the former GDR for which working people footed the bill. So stfu about the GDR being a state of injustice, there was a German state built on injustice, but it exists to this very day
