Nope, different ratio of shell to centre in each one due to different shapes. So same overall flavour but different experience with each. Mild changes but changes nonetheless.

The final tricky one really amped up the challenge and they got quite frantic and sloppy. It was fun and useful.

They stand and I choose at random and give a question. Get it wrong and sit down. Late game you can steal if you're out by getting it before the chosen. Last standing wins.

It's fluency, reasoning and problem solving. Probably a hold over from when I did some work for Pearson. I just used it there for character's sake. I taught "when it says this, it's a hint to..."

Gives you the answer right away - no forgetting cos you've just got c. Never need to add/subtract fractions. Helps you remember how to do gradient and vice versa. Is prettier and more grown up looking. Makes you look smart.

It might be worth looking at science resources for teaching of scales as they have to do it a lot. You could also do some granular focus on intervals on number lines first using eg white rose materials for that.

"I have a pencil case but don't know how many" and then you can talk about two pencil cases with the same pens or adding in or taking away pens. Really physically helps them see like terms as different pencil cases etc.

I'm with you there. They did provide additional training for staff, but it seemed very tick boxy and when I asked questions about how the resources e.g. stretched HPAs they sort of waved them off.
