and here is an update: Elon Musk now says it's a "temporary emergency measure" to stop web scrapers from pulling Twitter's data it's unclear when unregistered visitors will be able to view Twitter content again
Twitter is currently blocking visitors from viewing tweets and profiles unless they are logged in.
Yeah, that's like a two week coding project to design a bot that registers huge numbers of new accounts and has each account scrape individual subsets of Twitter (including fake "sleeping time") so that no single account is doing too much. Also, Twitter's data isn't all he thinks it is.
