Participants in encampments and some other protest activities aim to pressure authorities to change course, not simply to change the authorities' minds via persuasion. Should that matter? I offer preliminary and general thoughts about "coercive speech."

You're also the sort of guy that might like to know that the 'Mad Parliament' of 1268 is not a contemporary name and may result from a corruption in the manuscript of the London chronicle (its source), where someone wrote 'insane' over 'insigne', meaning famous!
