I finally read the whole thing, and it reminded me of a Twitter thread I had recently seen by a young person extolling McDonald's. The case was that it was cheap and quick. There's def something similar happening in food: people rebelling by conspicuously choosing to eat crap.

No question I have bought and drank bad coffee (or food) when on the road or in an airport. Do I do it all the time? No. But yes, I don't understand the mentality of cheap, quick, convenient. I'm a big fan of the slow food movement.
