The govt says these countries’ citizens have an easier time adapting to Dutch society—a claim it cannot substantiate or explain. I find that lately Dutch people mostly cannot express what they don’t like about immigrants. Immigrants cause “a burden” (overlast). What burden? Oh, you know.

Lately? Is that because the dislike is now in the open or because previously Dutch people could pinpoint what they dislike about foreigners? I would argue the former - Dutch society always had an unhealthy dose of racism, but lately more and more people feel they can actually express it.
