SC and Red alert are amazing RTS games that make me wish for a comeback of the genre. The Sonic Adventure series was my favorite on the Dreamcast Unreal Tournament series was my first fps, and it was always such hectic fun. I still go back just to play with bots.

There are some fine RTS games from the past 15 years, but they are either fundamentally different from what came before, or not terribly appealing. Wargame scratches the itch for me but it's nothing like C&C. Thankfully plenty of people still play these older games... RA2 has a great community!
