Yes. This is the question.

Seriously, what does it take? What atrocity could Israel commit before it becomes a matter of public disgrace to champion our alliance? Does a threshold even exist? And what terrible harvest will the west reap for so unapologetically telling the world that it attaches so little value to these Arab lives snuffed out of existence?

this really is the question. "they're our ally no matter what they do" is how children think, but it shouldn't be how nations conduct diplomatic relations; nor should some "but did you hear what the other side did?" volleying be imagined to excuse atrocities -- this, too, is infantile thought

And at the risk of stating the obvious: the more of these seats we win, the more secure our majority is against Manchin/Sinema-type shenanigans. It would be nice to have enough margin to not to be at the mercy of one or two senators with cold feet or ulterior motives.

A huge part of why it’s difficult to roll out solar, wind, heat pumps and retrofitting at the scale we need is because we quite simply don’t have the numbers of qualified installers needed. A huge opportunity for existing trades. But sure, let’s do some performative scolding of XR instead.

Can I not entirely respectfully suggest that failing to provide proper training programmes for electricians, builders and plumbers might be more harmful to them and their trades than *checks notes* environmentalists pointing out the uselessness of most carbon capture projects?
